Frequently Asked Questions
Pelvic floor therapy is still new to many people, and we know you might have questions — or maybe feel a little nervous about what to expect. That's completely normal. We're here to make this feel as comfortable and approachable as possible.
-
Pelvic floor therapy is a specialized occupational or physical therapy focused on the muscles, connective tissue, and nerves of the pelvic region. These muscles support your bladder, bowel, and uterus, and play a role in core stability, sexual function, and so much more. When they're too tight, too weak, or not coordinating properly, you feel it — and pelvic floor therapy helps address the root cause.
-
Everyone with a pelvis! While pelvic floor therapy is often associated with pregnancy and postpartum recovery, it's beneficial across all stages of life. We treat conditions including pelvic pain, bladder leaks, constipation, painful intercourse, prolapse, back pain, and more. You don't have to have given birth to benefit.

Every session is one-on-one with Amy and tailored to your specific needs and goals. Sessions may include manual therapy (hands-on techniques to address muscle tension and joint mobility), therapeutic exercises, breathing and nervous system regulation work, habit coaching, and education about your body. Some sessions include an internal pelvic floor assessment, but this is always explained beforehand, fully consensual, and completely optional. You are in control at every step.
-
No. An internal pelvic floor assessment is totally optional. Amy will always explain what she's assessing and why. You are the CEO of your body, you are in full control, and we require a 100% verbal consent prior to doing anything.
-
Concierge means we come to you. Amy will bring everything needed — a massage table, clean linens, pillows, and any equipment — directly to your home. You don't have to navigate traffic, find parking, or sit in a waiting room. This is especially helpful during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, or any time getting out of the house feels like a barrier to care.
-
Orchid Pelvic Health is based in Atlanta, Georgia and serves clients throughout the greater Atlanta area. Telehealth services are also available to anyone living in the State of Georgia.
-
That varies depending on your condition, goals, and how your body responds to treatment. Amy will give you a clear picture after your Initial Evaluation and work with you to build a plan that fits your life. Many clients see meaningful improvement in just a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing care over a longer period.
-
Orchid Pelvic Health is currently a private pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. You are able to use HSA or FSA funds to cover sessions. If you'd like a superbill to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement, just ask — Amy is happy to provide one.
